An Organized Office

Rather than using someone else's definition of organization, let me ask you : How arranged are you wanting to be? When we discuss getting arranged folks generally get an impression of a spick and span office with not a paper out of whack. But my experience has taught me a neat office doesn't always need to be a really arranged office. If you ditch each single bit of paper that comes to your office, actually your office will be neat but not arranged.

I suspect that organizing is a relative term. In an arranged office there'll be a place for each thing and everything will be in its place. But at the same time you should be able to lay your hands on the object you want the instant you want it. And in this respect a little bit of mess is ok. It isn't enough that you know where each thing is, someone else should know it too. In case you aren't ready to come in person and get something, someone else should be in a position to do the job for you. It is here that labels and tags can prove to be particularly critical. Each single file should have a label and each thing should be filed correctly. It isn't enough that you name things according to your convenience.

The names should seem sensible to others also. For each working man or girl, here are frequently problems. By organizing your office, you can avoid most, or all of the above maladies. In the final analysis, both cash and time are saved.
